In response to an invitation from Hiersun Winning Financial Limited, a leading microcredit company based in Shenzhen but operating throughout China, IPC provided a four-day training to 33 senior managers leading operations throughout the country. The content of the training centred around MSE lending technology and strengthening risk management. This very productive course concluded with a final test and successful participants were awarded with a certificate of completion.

The overall goal of the training was to introduce IPC’s cashflow-based and analysis-based lending technologies. Strong emphasis was placed on how to obtain, verify and assess risk-relevant client information for clients working largely in the informal sector.

As such, the training put a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of conducting pre-disbursement analysis and verifying financial data. The methodologies selected were therefore lectures, case studies and interactive simulations. Due to the senior level of participants, the training also heavily focused on credit decisions and how to evaluate MSE-related risks. Additionally, significant time was spent discussing risk management methodologies, including effective loan monitoring and strategies for combatting arrears, as well as internal control techniques and structures.
