Founded by the international development NGO GRET, Thitsar Ooyin Company Limited (TO) is a microfinance company focused on providing loans to disadvantaged populations in rural areas with a view to promoting income-generating business activities. IPC was selected by GRET to strengthen the risk management activities of TO after its operational expansion into new zones.

IPC’s experts implemented the following tasks:

• carrying out a detailed risk assessment of the organisation allowing for the quantification of the impact and likelihood and occurrence of potential risks
• providing guidance to the organisation to control and mitigate such risks
• Develop a risk mapping tool for constant monitoring of the organisation’s risk profile
• proposing a risk management policy, a risk management reporting framework, and relevant tools
• reviewing the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the Risk Management Committee at the Board level
• proposing a framework for the presentation of the different risks to the Risk Management Committee (Board level) of TO
• providing training on risk management to middle and senior management
