The Global Climate Partnership Fund (GCPF) was set up to mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through investments in energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) projects, primarily via financial institutions. The aim of the GCPF is to save energy by reducing projected greenhouse gas emissions at least 20% in all energy efficiency projects financed and by targeting small- to medium-sized renewable energy projects that are beyond the reach of traditional renewable energy financing providers.

With the aim of supporting financial institutions in successfully engaging in green lending, the GCPF facilitated two peer-learning events in Bangkok, Thailand and Lima, Peru for its partner financial institutions. The workshops focused on demonstrating the green lending business case and concrete implementation strategies to diverse financial institutions and highlighting tangible EE and RE technology investment opportunities that could require financing. The GCPF contracted IPC to organise and deliver the workshops jointly with the GCPF team. In doing this, IPC developed a training session concept, organised preparation, supported content development, moderated the training sessions, and evaluated lessons learnt from the workshops.
